What is a Vintage Mystery Jewelry Jar? (And why I'm a little obsessed with making them)
There's something deeply satisfying about opening a jar and not knowing exactly what you'll find inside — but knowing it will be good.
That's the idea behind a Vintage Mystery Jewelry Jar. A curated collection of real vintage jewelry pieces, hand-picked and grouped around a theme or aesthetic, packed into a glass jar. No fast fashion, no new production. Just forgotten pieces from past decades, given a second life.
Where the pieces come from
I've been hunting vintage jewelry for years — across flea markets, private estates and hidden sources I've built up over time. It's the part of this work I love most and guard most carefully. What I can tell you is this: every piece I select is assessed for material, era and condition before it ever enters my shop. Semi-precious stones, perlmutt, wood, resin, signed designer pieces, hand-painted silk brooches, brutalist bronze, filigree silverplate. The pieces that end up in a Mystery Jar are ones I personally fell in love with.

Because a Jar makes shipping much more expensive and can break I send the jewelry in a gift bag |
How I put a jar together
Every jar has a theme. Not just "random vintage jewelry" — but a mood, a color story, an era. A jar might be all warm terracottas and wood from the 70s boho world. Another might be deep blues and silvers with a witchy edge. Or a full 80s glam moment in gold.
I fill each jar with pieces that actually belong together — that you could wear as a set or mix and layer. The result feels less like a lucky bag and more like someone who really understands vintage jewelry curated a small collection just for you.
Because that's exactly what happened.
Who a Mystery Jar is for
For anyone who loves the thrill of discovery combined with the confidence that the curation is done for them. My customers range from vintage collectors who want to explore a new aesthetic, to people looking for a genuinely personal gift, to jewelry makers who want authentic vintage components for upcycling projects.
And occasionally for people like me — who just can't walk past something beautiful from 1973 without wanting to take it home.

I have several themed jars in the shop right now — from earthy 70s boho to mermaidcore to dark and moody. Each one is a one-of-a-kind, so once it's gone, it's gone.
